Waiting for Summer - Lighthouse Beach
About this painting: I painted this wintery beach scene after a visit to Lighthouse Beach, Evanston, during a cold and blustery March day. Bright sunshine illuminated the rocks and the bare trees, with the promise of summer to come.

Beach at Whitefish Dunes
At Whitefish Dunes State Park, looking down over the railings to the beach.
Seagull Colony
Sitting on the beach, I could see a large, noisy flock of seagulls perched on a rusty and decaying concrete structure out on the Lake. As soon as I finished the painting, they all flew off! Perhaps they felt they were no longer needed by this artist?
