Storm's Coming SOLD
Storm Coming was inspired by a spring driving trip through the midwest prairies. Seeing the coming storms ahead of us through shafts of sunlight evoked the sense of the immensity, beauty and uncertain power of nature all around.

Abandoned SOLD
This painting was inspired by three crab shells I saw on a beach stroll along Oregon’s coast. I imagined they were washed empty and hurled up onto the sands by the ocean waves. The magnificent and varied colors of these shells drew me to create a still life capturing my memories of the stroll on s hot August day.

Waiting for Summer
This painting reflects the quiet stillness of a beach in the off-season, where the absence of people allows the landscape to breathe and reflect its own sense of solitude. The empty lifeguard stand stands as a silent sentinel, awaiting the return of summer's vitality, while the fenced dunes gently guide the viewer’s eye toward the ocean’s horizon. I aimed to evoke a sense of waiting and reflection, where the beach becomes a place of peaceful anticipation. Through the soft, sun-washed colors and delicate textures, I wanted to highlight the beauty in emptiness and the passing of time between seasons.
Dimensions: 24" wide x 16" high (framed)
Medium: watercolor
Seagull Colony
Sitting on the beach, I could see a large, noisy flock of seagulls perched on a rusty and decaying concrete structure out on the Lake. As soon as I finished the painting, they all flew off! Perhaps they felt they were no longer needed by this artist?

Spring Migration
‘Spring Migration’ depicts the spring migration flight of Sandhill Cranes. I wanted to capture the sensation of standing at the river, watching thousands and thousands of cranes flying overhead, swirling and honking in the early morning chill. Every March, over 1,000,000 sandhill cranes migrate through the Platte River region on their way north to Canada. Painted on location at the Platte River near Alda, NE.
Painting was featured in the Lakes Region Watercolor Guild Spring 2023 Art Show at the Old Opera House, Woodstock, IL.
