Spring Migration
‘Spring Migration’ depicts the spring migration flight of Sandhill Cranes. I wanted to capture the sensation of standing at the river, watching thousands and thousands of cranes flying overhead, swirling and honking in the early morning chill. Every March, over 1,000,000 sandhill cranes migrate through the Platte River region on their way north to Canada. Painted on location at the Platte River near Alda, NE.
Painting was featured in the Lakes Region Watercolor Guild Spring 2023 Art Show at the Old Opera House, Woodstock, IL.
